THE THERMAL DECOMPOSITION OF THE URANYL AND SODIUM URANYL CARBONATES

The thermal decompositioa of the sodium uranyl carbonates and the binary uranyl carbonate was investigated by differential thermal analysis and thermogravimetry. Uranyl carbonate decomposes in one stage only: UO/sub 2/CO/sub 3/ = UO/sub 3/ + CO/sub 2/. Evidence was obtained for a two-stage thermal decomposition of the sodium uranyl carbonates. (auth)
