DECAY OF Ag$sup 104$ AND LEVELS IN Pd$sup 10$$sup 4$

Journal Article · · Physical Review (U.S.) Superseded in part by Phys. Rev. A, Phys. Rev. B: Solid State, Phys. Rev. C, and Phys. Rev. D
The radioactive decay of the isomers of Ag/sup 104/ was investigated using scintillation spectrometers and a magnetic BETA ray spectrometer. Half lives of (66 plus or minus 1) and (29.8 plus or minus 0.5) minutes were determined for the spin 5 and spin 2 isomers, respectively. Conversion electrons corresponding to 15 gamma rays assigned to Pd/sup 104/ were observed. Two allowed positron transitions were detected: one of end-point energy (990 plus or minus 10) kev from the spin 5 isomer of Ag/sup 104/; and the other of end-point energy (2705 plus or minus 15) kev from the spin 2 isomer. Gamma-gamma and BETA - gamma coincidences were observed. The experimental data together with data obtained by other investigators were used to determine the spins and parities of the low-lying excited states of Pd/sup 104/. (auth)
