A finned tube for reactor fuel elements is designed with two types of helical fins. Tht first type, heat-exchange fins, is usually integral with the tube and may be produced by extrusion. The other type, nonintegral and of a different helical angle from that of the first type, may be attached to the tube by slotting and fitting over the other fins. (D.L.C.)
