A neutron activation analysis method was devised for the nondestructive, simultaneous determination of dysprosium and scandium. The sample was irradiated with neutrons at a flux of 4 x 10i/sup 10/nvt. The irradiated sample was alternately cooled and counted with a 256-channel pulse height analyzer. In the resultant gamma spectrum the height of the pho topeaks from the 0-142-Mev gamma ray of Sc/sup 46m/ and from the 0.108-Mev gamma ray of Dy/sup 165//sup m/ are measured. (B.O.G.)
