THE EFFECT OF THE FINITE DIMENSIONS OF THE NUCLEUS ON THE POLARIZATION OF PARTICLES DURING PAIR FORMATION AND BREMSSTRAHLUNG RADIATION (in Russian)

With the use of a Born approximation for high-energy gamma quanta, the angular distribution of longitudinally polarized electron-positron pairs is described with allowance being made for the finite dimensions of the nucleus, The results are presented in the form of a plot of a cross-section ratio for an elongated nucleus and a point nucleus as a function of the square of the radius for an incident gamma quanta with E/sub gamma / = 50 Mev and formation of a positron with E/sub +/ = 35 Mev at angles of positron emission theta /sub +/ = 60 and 90 deg . The degree of polarization decreases with increasing dimensions of the nucleus. The angular distribution of circularly polarized bremsstrahlung radiation from a longitudinally polarized electron is plotted for an incident electron with E/sub e/ = 50 Mev and emission of a gamma quanta with E/sub gamma / = 25 Mev at theta = 60 deg . The degree of circularly polarized bremsstrahlung radiation falls off significantly with increasing value of the square of the radius of the nucleus. (TTT)
