AN INVESTIGATION OF THE DECAY SCHEME OF Re$sup 184$ BY e$sup -$ E$sup -$- COINCIDENCE COUNTING (in Russian)
A sample of Re /sup 184/ was obtained by irradiating tungsten with deuterons on a cyclotron. The Re/sup 184/ activity (T/sub 1/2/ = 34 days) contained an equal amount of R/sup 184/ activity as an impurity. The relative content of Re/up 183/ decreased with time. The conversion electron coincidences from the decay of Re/sup 184/ to W/sup 184/ were investigated on a double toroidal BETA spectrometer having a resolution of 1.8% for the K 793.4 line. Coincidences of L 111.2 electrons were found with K253, L253, K383, K540, K642,K793, L793, K896, and L 896 electrons, and also with conversion electrons having an energy of 945 plus or minus 10 kev. The K 983 electrons coincide with K 253 and L 253 electrons, but do not coincide with K 793 electrons. A 61 level having an energy of 747 kev can be introduced into the rotational band with K = 0 on the basis of these data. The ratio of conversion coefficients K/(L + M) was found to be: K 253/(L + M)253 = 1.6 plus or minus 0.3, and K 383/(L + M)383 = 3 plus or minus 1. The theoretical values for an E2-transition are 1.7 and 2.7, respectively. A part of the Re/sup 184/ decay scheme involving two rotational bands with K=0 and K= 2 is given. (TTT)
