A study was made of the reactions of fluorallcyl radicals with molecules in the gas phase. The electron paramagnetic resonance method was used to study the kinetics of the reaction of these radicals with NO and NO/sub 2/ molecules. The kinetics of the reversable reaction of fluoralkyl radicals with sulfur dioxide were studied to obtain approximate values for the bond energy of R-SO/sub 2/(5 kcal/mol) and the activation energies of the forward and reverse reactions (14 and 19 kcal/mol). A study was made of the loss of the radicals under the action of hydrogen and the light hydrocarbons (CH/sub 4/, C/sub 2/H/sub 4/, C/sub 3/H/sub 6/). It is shown that the ra dical attrition rate is proportional to the gas pressure over the polymer. The measured activation energies range from 0 to 10 kcal/mole. (OTS)
