An intermediate image magnetic spectrometer was used to study the continuous beta + spectrum of Pr/sup 140/ and the Auger electrons of the decay chain Nd/sup 140/ -- Pr/sup 140/ -- Ce/sup 1 / 4>s/sup 0/. The maximum energy of the continuous beta /sup +/ spectrum was 2318 plus or minus 10 kev. The ratio of the intensities of the different Auger groups K-- LL:K--LX:K--MX=1:(0.58 plus or minus 0.05):(0.09 plus or minus 0.02). The ratio of the number of Auger electrons of the K-series to the electrons of the continuous spectrum e/sub K// beta /sup +/ was 0.292. (auth)
