The interaction of a high-impedance rf field with a plasma at electron cyclotron resonance is investigated experimentally. It is shown that the classical theory of electron cyclotron resonance can be applied only for interaction times of the order of 10 Larmor periods. The relativistic theory proposed in the foregoing paper by the authors is valid at comparatively low rf powers. (AIP)
