In the case of an infinite homogeneous medium or a finite medium where buckling is known through calculation or physical considerations, the multigroup diffusion equations can be converted to spatially independent equations involving only integrated fluxes. These equations are quite simple to solve, giving the neutron energy spectrum, multiplication factor, and total reaction rates. QUICKIE performs these calculations as well as calculating few-group cross sections and punching libraries for the spatially dependent diffusion and transport codes. Its advantages are simplicity of input data requirements and economy of operation.
