AUTORADIOGRAPHIC AND MICROSCOPIC EXAMINATION OF NUCLEAR-WEAPON DEBRIS PARTICLES

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4092797
Radioactive debris in air from the Russian nuclear weapons tests in Feb. and Oct. 1958 were collected on glass-fiber papers. Active particles were shown on autoradiographs of the filters. The particles were isolated, measured, and prepared in order to make possible examination and photography under the microscope, by autoradiographical methods. Beta- and gamma-decay curves for single particles were made and the relation between activity and particle size was investigated. (auth)
