The use of cesium plasma for electric power generation is examined theoretically, and the calculations result in a current of 50 amp/cm/sup 2/, a voltage of 1.7 volts, and a power output of 80 watts/cm/sup 2/ for a cesium vapor pressure of 0.1 mm Hg at 2500/sup o/K. The plasma thermocouple experimental program and results in this field are described briefly; a triple-cell experimental rod was developed for testing in a reactor and consists of three cells stacked in series. A possible modification of this rod for use in mass quantity in a water tank reactor and future applications of thermionic conventers are discussed: (D.L.C.)
