THE INFLUENCE OF SOME VOLATILE ELEMENTS ON THE INTENSITIES OF SPECTRAL LINES OF Sm, Eu, Gd AND Dy IN THE DC ARC

Journal Article · · Bull. Research Council Israel, Sect. A
OSTI ID:4088702

An extremely strong temperature dependence of the intensity ratio of atom and ion lines of europium was observed. The shape of the lines of samarium, europium, gadolinium, and dysprosium changes in the presence of elements with different ionization potentials. Using Li/sub 2/CO/sub 3/ as a "carrier," a satisfactory sensitivity for samarium, europium, gadolinium, and dysprosium in graphite powder map be obtained in the d-c arc. (auth)
