Critical magnetic field of superconducting thallium

Journal Article · · Phys. Rev., B, v. 13, no. 1, pp. 121-125
The critical magnetic field of superconducting thallium has been measured in the range 0.3--2.38 K. The temperature scale was defined by the critical magnetic field of indium. The measured value of the usual superconductive parameters are T/subc/ = 2.382 +- 0.001 K, H$sub 0$ = 177.20 +- 0.05 G, $gamma$* = 890 +- 6 erg/cm$sup 3$ K$sup 2$ and dH/subc//dT vertical-bar/ subT/c = 136.5 +- 0.7 G/K. The values of H$sub 0$-and dH/subc//dT vertical-bar/ subT/c are in contradiction with existing magnetic field measurements. The values < a$sup 2$ > = 0.01 +- 0.01 and 2epsilon$sub 0$/kT/subc/ = 3.71 +- 0.13 were estimated for the anisotropy parameter and the average energy gap, respectively. (AIP)
