It was shown that the cation salting order (Mg > Zn > Cd > Ca) in thorium nitrates solvent extraction by 0.5M TBP in benzene takes the reverse order (Ca > Cd > Zn) Mg) with high HNO/sub 3/ concentrations. It was found that wtth higher salting cation hydration, acid extraction by TBP becomes higher. (R.V.J.) A method is suggested for separating radiochemically pure Cd/sup 115/ isotope by precipitation with thiocyanate pyridine complex. The yield of cadmium is about 90% and the separation and purification time 3 to 4 hrs. (R.V.J.)
