A double receiver system, which contained a specially prepared double multiplier, was tested on a mass spectrometer. With it comparisons could be made of the isotope frequency ratio Sr/sup 87//Sr/sup 86/ in strontium samples of various origins with a relative exactness of 0.2 to 0.5%. It was assumed that the careful, reproducible adjustment for the comparison of mass lines 86 and 87 is also necessary for measurements of lines 87 and 88 at the slit of the receiver system. (tr-auth)
