The inorganic residue remaining after the evaporation and ignition of 1 ml urine is fused with a sodium fluoride-sodium bicarbonate fusion mixture. The fluorescence of melt is measured in a type 1080A fluorimeter, and the uranium content is assessed by applying a factor obtained from a calibration using external standards or from the readings obtained by the addition of an internal standard to the sample.
