PHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF THE TOTAL RARE EARTHS IN NATURAL MATERIALS (in Russian)

Journal Article · · Zh. Analit. Khim.
OSTI ID:4082450

Conditions were found for the determination of rare earths with arsenazo I in the presence of less or equal amounts of thorium using lactic acid as a masking agent. A study was made of the iodate method for separating thorium from rare earths from a tartaric-nitric acid medium in the presence of hydrogen peroxide and mercuric nitrate as a coprecipitator. A photometric method is suggested for the determination of 0.02--3% of rare earths in ores containing thorium, titanium, and zirconium. (auth)
