VARIATIONS IN THE INTENSITY OF AURORAL LUMINOSITY AND GEOMAGNETIC DISTURBANCES

Journal Article · · Goemagnetism Aeronomy
OSTI ID:4081038
The relation between variations in the integral intensity of auroral luminosity and geomagnetic disturbances of bay and irregular fluctuation types are examined. It is shown that disturbances of these types arise from a common cause, i.e., the change in ionization in the upper atmosphere. Recombination rates are determined. (auth)
