CESIUM-137 AND POTASSIUM IN FINNISH LAPPS AND THEIR DIET

Data are summarized from a field study of the content of Cs/sup 137/ and K in the diets and bodies of 190 Lapps and other inhabitants of the Inari County in nonthern Finland carried out in Oct. 1961. The Cs/sup 137/ content of the people was determined by whole-body counting. The diet of each individual was determined by interview. The relation of the Cs/sup 137/ content in reindeer meat, fish, and milk to the Cs/sup 137/ body burden of individuals is discussed. (C.H.)
