Results of tests to determine the flow coastdown characteristics in the Shippingport Reactor are presented for various loss-of-flow accidents. It is concluded that the characteristics are in close agreement with the design predictions. The flow, for a complete loss of flow accident, is slightly greater than tbe predicted flow during the coastdown for the first few seconds after loss of pump power. The flow for sequential loss-of-flow accident is sightly less than the predicted flow durirg the coastdown for about two seconds after loss of the first pump. (J.R.D.)
