A radiation detection system using Geiger tubes is designed for indicating radiations at a point remote from the point of radiation detection. The system is particularly useful for level indication in the operation of metallurgical furnaces, e.g. in conjunction with the gaging system described in British Patent 894,352. The system comprises a circuit of sturdy construction and improved reliability (no vacuum tubes other than the Geiger tube) for the transmission of the signal to a distant point through a lowimpedance circuit. A modified system using high a-c voltage in place of d-c and a Geiger tube for use with the modified system are described. (D.L.C.)
