A modified device of the type described in British Patent 868,696, is designed for indicating or controlling the level of a material in a container. The device comprises a radiation source, a scintillation counter, a blocking oscillatortype circuit triggered by the counter pulses, an electromagnetic relay for energizing an indicator or control circuit in response to the oscillator. A variable resistor is provided for adjusting the device sensitivity. (D.L.C.)
