TEST OF GRANVILLE-PHILLIPS TYPE C ULTRA-HIGH VACUUM VALVE. Technical Memo. No. 33

Technical Report ·
DOI:https://doi.org/10.2172/4068790· OSTI ID:4068790
Tests were made on the ultra-high vacuum valve to determine the feasibility of baking the valve closed at 400 deg C to enable a copper foil vapor trap to be baked while isolated from its system by the valve. The rate of pressure rise was measursd as a function of the valve closing torque between 200 and 400 in. lb, for open and closed bake-outs. The data are tabulated and compared graphically. (B.O.G.)
