A magnetostatic chamber was used for determining the influence of a constant magnetic field on the performance of the most popular photomultipliers (FEU-29, 24, 13, C, and 23). The data gives the maximum magnetic-field intensity (magnetostatic parameter) and the necessary protection againat the magnetic influence on scintillation counters performing in magnetic fields.
