Degassed cyclohexane was irradiated with 1.5-Mev alpha particles from a Van de Graaff generator at currents of G(H/sub 2/) varied only slightly from the value accepted for lightly ionizing radiation, G(cyclohexene) and G(bicyclohexyl) were considerably, lower. Irradiations to the same total dose with gamma iadiation (dose rate 2-7 x 10/sup 17/ ev g/sup -1/ min/sup -1/, comparable with those in the irradiated zone in the alpha particle irradiations) gave essentially the same G values foi these products.
