A radioactive contamination monitor is designed which responds to alpha and BETA radiations and has means for producing audibly distinguishable signals in response respectively to said alpha and BETA radiations. The monitor includes a dual phosphor scintillation probe which produces pulse in one amplitude range in response to alpha rays and pulses in another amplitude range in response to BETA rays, means for producing a pulse in a first channel in response to pulses in both amplitude ranges and a pulse in a second channel in response only to pulses in one range, an anticoincidence circuit, a tone circuit, and a sound transducer.
