A survey is presented of the basic principles, characteristics, and limitations of the nuclear radiation detectors which find important applications in chemical work. The detectors described include: electroscopes, ionization chambers, proportional counters, Geiger-Mueller counters, and scintillation detectors. Schematic diagrams are included. (M.C.G.)
