INVESTIGATION OF $gamma$-RAYS FROM Mg$sup 24$, Mg$sup 25$, Mg$sup 26$ ISOTOPES BOMBARDED WITH Po /cap alpha/-PARTICLES
BS>Magnesium isotopes Mg/sup 24/, Mg/sup 25/, and Mg/sup 26/ are bombarded with polonium alpha particles. For Mg/sup 25/ and Mg/sup 26/ the excitation function of gamma radiation from the nuclear processes is measured with a thin target. For the Mg/sup 25/ target, resonances are found at alpha energies of 3.58, 4.33, 4.47, 4.61, energies of 4.56 and 5.01 Mev. From these data seven highly excited states of the Si/sup 29/ compound nucleus and two of the Si/sup 30/ nucleus are determined. The origin of gamma radiation is cleared up by the observed spectra of gamma rays. A method for a micro electrochemical deposition of magnesium is proposed. (auth)
