DETECTION AND MEASUREMENT OF THE NATURAL RADIOACTIVITY OF THE ATMOSPHERE (in French)

After recalling the rature of natural atmospheric radioactivity, the various methods of detection and dosimetry of this radioactivity, such as direct methods (ionization chamber, proportional counter, and scintillator) and indirect methods (thermal, centrifugal and electrostatic precipitations, and filtration), are surveyed. Finally, taking into account the diffusion of the emanation and the meteorological conditions that modify the natural radioactivity of air, the order of magnitude of this radioactivity is given.
