A spacer member is designed for positioning fuel tubes in reactor channels. The spacer member comprises a ring adapted to abut the complemertary inclined end faces of adjacent fuel tubes and to offer projections between the fuel tubes and the channel wall. The ring is made of two halves coupled by lug and groove interconnections, and the projections are designed to overlap the fuel tubes. Dimensional changes in the fuel tubes and the ring can be accommodated by the clearances in the lug and groove interconnections in the ring and by sliding in the inclined planes of contact between the fuel tubes and the ring.
