A survey of ionizing radiation effects on the properties of the most important polymers is given. The changes of chemical structure and physical properties of polyethylene, polyisobutylene, polystyrene, polytetrafluorethylene, polyvinylchloride, polyvinylalcohol, polymethylmethacrylate, polyamides, phenol- formaldehyde resins, melamine-formaldehyde resins, epoxy resins, and natural and synthetic rubber are described.
