A survey of ionizing radiation effects on the properties of important polymers is given. The change of chemical structure and physical properties of polyethylene, polyisobutylene, polystyrene, polytetrafluorethylene, polyvinylchloride, polyvinylalcohol, polymethylmethacrylate, polyamides, phenol- formaldehyde resins, melamine-formaldehyde resins, epoxy resins, and natural and synthetic rubber is described.
