METHOD OF EXTRACTING PROTACTINIUM FROM URANIUM ORES

Protactinium is extracted from uranium ores by leaching with acids and subsequent separation of protactinlum from the solution. To obtain a high-purity metal and to accelerate the process, protactinium is isolated by extraction with isopentyl alcohol in the presence of Arsenazo III and sulfuric acid. (OTS)
