Research carried out in the United Kingdom on radioactive fall-out from nuclear test explosions from 1954 to 1957 is reviewed. A study was made of the fate of the longlived isotopes Sr/sup 90/ and Cs/sup 137/ in human food chains. The study involved measurements on animal bones, grass, foodstuffs, milk, and soil, in relation to the amount of stable calcium present. (N.W.R.)
