Duoplasmatron formation of He$sup ++$ ions

Experiments concerning the He$sup ++$ formation with a duoplasmatron are presented. The measurements for choosing the suitable parameters of the source were made with a test setup located immediately after extraction electrode of the source. A method for estimation of the partial H$sub 2$$sup +$ and He$sup ++$ currents is proposed. The mass analysis was made alternately for hydrogen and helium in the source and for a mixture of both in the expansion cup. With equal partial pressures of helium and hydrogen inside the plasma cup, the analyzed He$sup +$ peak does not change, the H$sup +$ peak increases by 30 percent, and the (He$sup ++$ + H$sub 2$$sup +$) by 75 percent.
