DESIGN, CONSTRUCTION AND OPERATION OF A HOT AIR BURNER RIG TEST FACILITY

Technical Report ·
OSTI ID:4033661

A program for the development of oxidation-resistant materials for high temperature applications required means for adequately evaluating the results of this work. A propane fired hot air burner test facility was designed and constructed for this purpose. The design required temperatures in excess of 2000 deg F and dynamic heads greater than 6 psi. Operation of the equipment at these performance levels was accomplished. A number of test samples fabricated of materials developed in this laboratory were tested in this rig at levels up to the maximum design conditions for extended time periods. (auth)
