THE DIFFERENTIAL AND INTEGRAL CROSS SECTIONS FOR LOSS AND CAPTURE OF ELECTRONS BY ARGON IONS AT 250 + 1400 kev (in Russian)

The energy and angular dependence of the distribution of charge fractions in an argon particle beam are measured for single collisions with argon and krypton atoms. The results agree with the Russek-Thomas theory. The differential cross sections for scattering and electron loss and the integral cross sections for electron loss and capture by singly charged argon ions in argon and krypton are also measured. The measuremerts are performed in the 0--3 deg angle range. Those parts of the integral effective cross sections that correspond to scattering of the primary ions into angles between 0 and 1 deg were measured directly. (auth)
