STRONTIUM-90 AND CESIUM-137 IN MILK AT ISPRA, ITALY, DURING 1960-62
Results obtained by routine radioactivity analysis of milk samples obtained monthly (1960-- 1962) from four dairies near Ispra, Italy, are presented. Regular checks were also made of milk produced in an extensive zone of irrigated pastures near Milan. Observed ratios (S.U. milk/S.U. diet), the S.U./K.U. ratio STA(pC /sup 90/Sr/g Ca)/ (pC /sup 137/Cs/g K)!, and the relative contributions of direct and indirect contamination to the radioactivity of milk are discussed.
