An advanced analytical procedure of a mooring anchor-seabed interaction problem is developed to numerically estimate the dynamic responses of the mooring anchor and the seabed around it subjected to a mooring force. In the anchor plate-seabed interaction analysis proposed in this paper, the seabed is assumed to be a fluid-saturated poroelastic medium whose behavior is governed by Biot`s theory of wave propagation. The effect of both the stiffness and the mass ratio of an anchor plate on the frequency response of the mooring anchor are numerically evaluated, and the dynamic response of a mooring anchor in seabed are also investigated by using the anchor-chain tension measured in the mooring experiment of a ferryboat.
