DEUTERON-ALPHA ELASTIC SCATTERING

Journal Article · · Nuclear Physics (Netherlands) Divided into Nucl. Phys. A and Nucl. Phys. B
Deuteron-alpha elastic scattering cross sections were measured over the deuteron energy range 3.5 to 10 Mev. The data are in the form of excitation functions at seven center-of-mass angles: 30.6, 40.7, 51.9, 76,2, 90.0, 125.3, and 139.1 deg . The data at 139.1 deg and part of the data at 125.3 were obtained by observing recoil alpha particles. Energy steps of about 50 kev and an energy resolution of about 30 kev were employed. The cross sections determined are ac curate to about 3%. Above 5 Mev the cross sections vary slowly with energy. (auth)
