(d,$alpha$) REACTIONS ON SOME LIGHT NUCLEI AT 13 MEV

ABS>Angular distributions of alpha particles from the reactions B/sup 10/(d, alpha )Be/sup 8/, B/sup 10/(d, alpha )Be/sup 8/, F/sup 19/(d, alpha )O/sup 1/ s/sup 7*/ were studied with 13-Mev deuterons by means of thin scintillator technique. The results for B/sup 10/ and F/sup 19/ show a forward peaked distribution. An attempted fit in terms of the Butler theory indicates the predominancy of direct processes in the mechanism of these reactions. The angular distribution for the reaction Al/sup 27/(d, alpha )Mg/sup 25/ was measured. In this case it was not possible to separate the ground state from the low-lying excited states of Mg/sup 25/. The absolute values of differential cross sections were measured in all cases. (auth)
