VECTOR TETRADS AND EQUATIONS OF GEODESICS

The equations of geodesics in a relativistic gravitational field have been expressed in a vector tetrad space. The properties of a tensor L/sub v alpha sigma / that appears in these equations and those of a vector C/sub mu obtained by contracting the tensor L/ aa sigma / have been examined. It is found that C/ mu / is associated with the Newtonian force to the first approximation for certain well- known line elements of physical significance. (auth)
