The progressive formulation of the basic thesis of the tetrad theory of gravitation in a space of absolute parallelism U/sub 4/ is given. Its application to the calculation of the observed heliorelativistic effects is examined. It was shown that with the characteristics of the tetrad theory of gravitation there is a choice in the source of the gravitational field of the total canonical tensor of the energymomentum of the nongravitational matrix and a single-valued determination of the complete energy-momentum of the gravitational field and the nongravitational matrix. The conditions imposed on the tetrad theory of gravitation by the correspondence principle with the Newtonian theory and the Lorentz invariant theory of the nongravitational matrix were determined. The expressions were obtained for the heliorelativistic effects of light deflection, signal lag, and perihelion displacement, distinguishable from the analogous predictions of the general relativity theory and agreeing with the observations with some choices of the specific teleparallel'' constants characterizing the deviation of the spacetime geometry U/sub 4/ from the Riemann- Schwarzschild geometry of the general relativity theory. A brief review is also given of a series of studies on the tetrad theory of gravitation and particularly the fallacy of the Pellegrini-Plebanski approach was noted. (tr-auth)
