REACTIVITY COEFFICIENTS IN THE UNPOISONED PMA-40 SLAB CORE. PART I. MEASUREMENTS

>Results of reactivity coefficient and flux distribution measurements in the unpoisoned PMA-40 alab core are described. The PMA-40 core is the first in a series of slab cores to be constructed in the KAPL Plastic Mockup Assembly (PMA) for evaluating analytical techniques and cross-section schemes. In addition to the distributed re activity coefficients of U/sup 235/, aluminum, and polyethyiene, the spatial variation in the reactivity coefficients along the shont 12-in. dimension of the core is presented. The description of the core, measurements, and results presented is complete enough so that calculations can be performed without additional information. (auth)
