INTERNAL CONVERSION COEFFICIENTS OF THE TRANSITIONS IN W$sup 18$$sup 2$
ABS>The conversion electron spectrum of /sup 182/W was measured by means of an iron-yoke double-focusing spectrometer. By careful analysis of the conversion spectrum, which was recorded at a resolution of about 0.28%, it was possible to identify two additional new transitions of 146 and 351 kev gamma rays not reported before. Multipolarities and mixing ratios were determined from K/L or L-subshell ratios for low-energy transitions. The determined conversion coefficients generally support previous spin assignments. The 116-kev gamma transition was found to be an electric dipole transition, while the 146kev gamma ray has magnetic quadrupole character. New levels at 680 and 1437 kev with spin and parity 6/sup +/ and 4/sup +/, respectively, were confirmed. No penetration effects were found in the conversion process of the retarded 67-, 116-, and 222- kev E1 transitions. However, the retarded 152-, and 156-kev electric dipole transitions showed an anomalous internal conversion coefficient deviating about 20% from the theoretical values for pure E1 transitions calculated by Sliv and Band.
