FIBROBLAST PROLIFERATION AND $sup 35$S-SULFATE INCORPORATION IN DIFFERENT VASCULARIZATION STAGES OF THE CORNEA AFTER ACTION OF BETA RADIATION (in German)
A considerable proliferation and vascularization of the connective tissue of the cornea, which was artificially vascularized by administration of alioxan into the chamber of the eye and of tempertine into the lameilas was observed 20 days after penforation injury and irradiation with 2400 rep using a / sup 90/Sr applicator. An increased /sup 35/S-sulfate incorporation into the injured area and into the uninjured cornea areas, which were near the epithelium and the anterior chamber was measured. An inhibition of the /sup 35/Ssulfate incorporation could be found in the granulation tissue of the cornea, which was not vascularized at the time of the injury after irradiation with 2400 rep.
