THE EFFECT OF OXYGEN ON THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF ZONE-REFINED NIOBIUM

Journal Article · · J. Less-Common Metals
The yield point behavior of niobium containing varying quantities of oxygen is investigated. Oxygen raises the yield stress at 293 deg K and 77 deg K. Twinning is observed in zone-melted niobium at 77 deg K but this is inhibited by oxygen additions. (auth)
