Equipment used for the production and observation of electron-positron pairs created by gamma rays in the gas of a cloud chamber is described. The gamma rays originate from a small 7 Mev betatron; construction and operational details are presented. The expansion cloud chamber, constructed for application of the overcompression technique, along with its auxiliary equipment is also described. A study of the thermal properties of the overcompression cloud chamber is given. Finally a short description of the experimental arrangement for the production of electronpositron pairs is given.
