THE INFLUENCE OF DIFFERENT DIETS ON RADIOSTRONTIUM RETENTION IN SKELETON OF MAMMALS (in German)

Journal Article · · Intern. J. Radiation Biol.
OSTI ID:4020261
The retention of radiostrontium by growing rats receiving different diets before and after a single injection of the isotope was compared with rats receiving a standard diet. A reduction of /sup 90/Sr-content of the femur was induced by a Sr-enriched standard diet and a Ca-rich, P-deficient diet, fed either before or after injection of the isotope. Results are discussed in connection with the metabolism of bone and the therapy of radiostrontium intoxication. (auth)
